DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES :In line with the UAE National Agenda 2021, which seeks to create and maintain a sustainable environment and infrastructure, the Environmental Solutions arm of Dulsco Group has launched the UAE’s upcycled furniture store – The New Old & Reloved by Dulsco - in Dubai’s Wafi Mall at the prime location on the first floor next to VOX Cinema.

This is an Emirati brand established as a by-product of a recycling meets innovation approach, giving waste a new lifecycle, and a chance to be owned and loved once again. The concept of this store is in line with the UAE’s efforts to promote sustainability and protect the environment as the main objectives of the UAE Circular Economy.

The store launch was attended by Wafi Mall management, David Stockton, Dulsco's CEO, some of the very talented fabricators and team members from both entities.

Dulsco’s CEO David Stockton commented, “We are delighted to announce the launch of our ‘New Old & Reloved’ customized products. ‘Upcycling’ has taken the world by storm and all our repurposed items are solely made from recycled materials which go through a transformation journey from waste to new and improved modern statement pieces. Every piece of furniture we sell brings us one step closer to promoting sustainability and helping the environment.”

He added, “the beauty of upcycled items is that every piece of furniture is different as upcycled items are not mass-produced. Another interesting feature is that the items can be customized which makes it extra special to own.”

Upcycling isn’t just about transforming the old into the new, it also has huge benefits on the environment such as upcycling reduces the number of discarded materials and waste being added to landfill each year especially since we are trying to reach 75% target diversion rate of waste away from landfill.

It also reduces the need to use new or raw materials to produce new furniture, which in turn results in a reduction of air pollution, water pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions, he added.
