United Arab Emirates, 05 December 2018, (AETOSWire) : High Hopes Pediatric Therapy Center, Dubai’s fully integrated facility for children with moderate to complex special needs, celebrated its first anniversary by reinforcing its commitment to families of children with special needs.

In a celebration of High Hope’s first anniversary milestone, friends and families of children with special needs gathered at the not-for-profit center to mark the progress they have made over the past year as the center has introduced unique therapy models and advanced equipment to serve children of determination in the region.

With awareness of special needs increasing in the community, High Hopes aims to collaborate with other professional centers to provide its unique model of teaching, expertise and care. The center holds expert talks, training sessions and workshops for local professionals at various locations in addition to participating in conferences to build greater awareness about their unique specialized services such as use of communication devices as well as vision intervention.

As a part of the first anniversary celebrations, the High Hopes team organised a fun-filled day for families and children of determination under the theme ‘We Are One Because of You.” Children had an opportunity to demonstrate their talents through a running race, bowling competition, and a musical show while their families had the opportunity to connect with specialists.

“We are proud to be celebrating our first anniversary today. This milestone marks just the beginning as we work to grow our high calibre team and become a model for special needs intervention in the region,” said Lynn Barghout Jafar, Founder and Managing Mum of High Hopes. “Our core focus is to treat children as well as share our expertise and best practice with families and institutions at all levels,” she added.

Over the past year, High Hopes has sought to be a one-stop resource for parents, schools, and specialists, all working to support children and young adults with learning difficulties, gross and fine motor delays, vision impairment as well as special educational needs to meet their full potential, both socially and academically. The center serves more than 150 families of children with such conditions as cerebral palsy, genetic mutations, Down syndrome, and autism. While most of the children reside in the UAE, the center also serves families who have come from Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon and India.

“At High Hopes we have found not only the best therapists and right therapeutic approach delivering tangible results for our daughter; we have also found a loving and caring environment where everything happens for one reason-- helping children overcome their challenges,” said Catherine Paul, a Dubai-based mother whose  daughter receives therapies at the center.  “Having access to the best possible pediatric therapists, housed in a friendly but state-of-the-art facility is something we feel immensely grateful and fortunate to have here in Dubai,” she added.

High Hopes also boosts local knowledge and expertise by regularly conducting workshops in collaboration with local and international experts, and works with visiting consultants from around the world to remain at the forefront of technological, technical and research advancements. The center helps reinforce Dubai’s reputation as a hub for best-in-class healthcare and health education, underpinned by the standards set by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Community Development Authority (CDA).
