Ajman, United Arab Emirates — Hamid bin Rashid International Award for Sustainability has recently revealed the members of the scientific committee for the second edition of the award, which includes a number of experts, academics, and specialists in the field of the environment from various countries, including the United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, Portugal and France, and the United Arab Emirates. The committee aims to evaluate the participating projects from a scientific and practical point of view, and then vote to select the awarded candidates.
Through this award, Ajman Municipality & Planning Department aims to stay in line with the strategy and vision of the wise leadership in UAE to achieve a better and more prosperous future for the country, and also to match the global interest in more sustainable solutions to meet the recent environmental challenges. Therefore, this award supports distinguished ideas and projects in the environment and sustainability by rewarding and honouring distinguished ideas and projects.
The award aims to honour and encourage everything that supports sustainability, whether it is research or projects concerned with the environment, or personalities that have contributed to this field. The award is also granted to institutions that apply sustainability principles and make an example to be followed by other institutions.
Applications were received starting last October 15 and will continue until September 15 of this year. The projects will be presented to the Scientific Committee for evaluation and the winner will be announced in March 2024 as part of the activities of Ajman’s International Environment Conference.
