The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) successfully participated in the ITB Berlin, which was held in Berlin from the 8th to the 12th of March, 2017. The department yielded positive results at all investment and tourism promotion levels and was able to boost its relations with key travel and tourism partners in the participating countries to attract tourism investment to the Emirate of Ajman.

 

The ATDD stand received attention from many interested parties including investors, visitors and exhibitors. The department’s delegation presented in detail the major existing projects in Ajman, and the procedures and incentives for setting up sustainable and innovative tourism facilities in the Emirate, to keep up with the ongoing developments all over the world.

 

The ATDD highlighted the available business and investment opportunities in the tourism sector, detailing the facilities and incentives offered to investors. The department was able to attract international attention and to receive growing interest from tourism investors due to the diverse and attractive environment for tourism investment.

 

During its participation in the ITB Berlin, the ATDD welcomed H.E. Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, President of the Federal National Council and the UAE ambassador to Germany, where they were briefed on the vision and objectives from participation in major international tourism exhibitions and conferences, as well as on the current achievements and future plans to achieve Ajman Vision 2021, making the Emirate one of the important tourist destinations on the world tourism map.

 

The department held a series of meetings with key companies and investors interested in setting up leading tourism projects in the UAE, and particularly in Ajman. The meetings included presentations about the tourism potential in Ajman and landmarks which attract foreign investment. In addition, a range of tourist attractions were presented to visitors, investors and exhibitors. The ATDD signed many business and investment agreements.

 

His Excellency Faisal Al Nuaimi, General Manager of the Ajman Tourism Development Department, said: “Our participation in this international event allowed us to present our tourism projects and the strategic vision 2021 which we are seeking to achieve by boosting investment opportunities and signing international agreements with major tourism companies to develop this sector in the Emirate. In addition, it was an ideal platform to network with travel and tourism investment companies and to introduce our services and tourism potential to a large number of visitors, exhibitors and investors”.

 

He added: “The ATDD promoted the Emirate as a leading destination for tourism investment and business by showcasing the small and medium enterprises in the Emirate and the tourist traffic figures over the last few years”.

 

Al Nuaimi clarified: “We discussed with international tour operators the possibility of expanding to the UAE through investment in the Emirate of Ajman. We noticed a keen interest from participants to learn about the tourism potential in Ajman, particularly with the excellent investment and business relations between Ajman and the Arab and foreign countries based on solid foundations of partnership and collaboration”.

 

Co-exhibitors from the hospitality sector, who accompanied the ATDD on the trip to Berlin, stressed that the visit was a valuable opportunity to promote their hospitality and tourism services to visitors in the world’s premier industry gathering. They expressed their appreciation to the ATDD for its efforts in promoting the tourist offerings in the Emirate.

 

The ATDD is preparing to promote the tourism potential of Ajman in Russia by organizing meetings with travel and tourism authorities and agencies. During this trip, the department’s delegation will visit the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT) to exchange experiences with decision makers and experts in tourism industry.
